Hunts Moose

The moose here in Wyoming are Shiras moose and many times just called Wyoming moose.  These moose are a little smaller than their cousins to the North, but the thrill of moose hunting is the same anywhere!

Moose

Moose are unpredictable animals and sometimes days are spent just trying to find one.  Moose inhabit the high timberline basins all the way to the lowest river bottoms. Moose seem to be solitary animals much of the year, but often congregate during the rut.

Hunting moose consists of checking as many moosey looking spots as possible. Many seasons here in Wyoming are close to or near the rut so any cow moose found should have a bull nearby. Calling can also be very effective. I killed my own Wyoming bull at 15 yards and he wasn’t stopping!

Moose

The rewards of hunting moose can be huge, literally. Big bulls can have antlers spreading over four feet wide and bodies close in size to a horse. Moose hunting is a rare experience you don’t want to miss. So apply for these licenses and if you draw, let us lead you to a magnificent trophy moose.

Check out the Preference Point page for more information about the draw.
