Hunts About D&D

Hello readers, my name is Daylen Carrell. I am a very lucky man! Not only do I have a beautiful and talented wife Keristyn, and two wonderful children my son Canyon and my daughter Rivers, but I also get to make a living doing what I love.

From an early age I have been enthralled by the natural world around me. I have hunted and fished like a fanatic for my entire life. My passion for these things has shaped my life. At age 21, my Dad and I started an outfitting business. D&D outfitters was born in 1996 and my Dad and I ran the business as a partnership.

Carrell Family

My Grandpa Bill Carrell had been an outfitter in Wyoming throughout much of his life and my Dad had guided hunters for years, so I think this type of work is in my blood. My wonderful parents and family also taught me to love people and to share. These traits enable me to truly enjoy this work.

In 2008 I took sole ownership of D&D Outfitters. We have always run this business as a small family operation with guiding duties performed by me and one or two great guides. My wife and my Mom Susan do the cooking here and the food is excellent. My Dad still helps in many ways as well, and like I’ve mentioned previously, we want all of our clients to feel like family. I should state that we now see over half of our schedule filled every year with return clientele.

Through the years we have learned much about this business. We have a very good management program in use and our hunts have evolved as we’ve chosen quality over quantity. One of the best lessons we’ve learned is that clear communication can help everyone. I will try and describe our hunts accurately and gladly answer any questions, and hunters should try and explain their objectives and preferences.

I have chosen to keep this business very personal because if I go on a hunt elsewhere, that is the type of operation I look for. I feel confident that I can guarantee hunters honesty, hard work, and professionalism. This guarantee combined with fantastic hunting in premier areas, is a recipe for success. I hope to see you this Fall!
